Searching for students of "Uriah HENDERSON". With so seemingly unique a given name as "Uriah", I thought that there might be only one in existence . . . wrong! Recently checked the new LDS Family Search Ancestral/International Genealogical Index internet file, finding some tantalizing information, but unfortunately no names/addresses of submitters. Have personally determined that Uriah (I) of my own line was a shoemaker, born about 1810-17 in PA. His wife was Elizabeth (presumably BoYd, or BoNd, based on an aged member of their 1850 household), also born in PA, in 1822. One or both may have been Irish or Scotch-Irish in background. Their thirdborn child, among at least ten, was Uriah (II), born in 1841/2 in PA, where in 1850, the family resided in Dunbar, Fayette County. About 1855-7, the family relocated to Hennipin, PUTNAM County, IL. Except for the fact that he was a young farm laborer in 1860 IL, little is known about the occupational pursuit of Uriah (II), although it is presumed that he later became a farmer in OK. Sometime between 1860 & 1872, Uriah (II) relocated to OK, and married Josephine WARD, who was 1/16 Choctaw indian. That indian connection resulted in Dawes land allotments in OK being awarded to children & grandchildren of Uriah (II) & Josephine. Two known such children were Laura Elizabeth & Roy Henderson. Laura Henderson was born in 1872 in Atoka, OK, and married Benjamin Franklin MOZLEY, about 1890. Their eldest surviving child was Lena Belle Mozley, born in 1892, who married Robert Kemper KIMBERLIN (II), in Norman, OK in 1911. For reference, known siblings of Uriah (II) included: Isaac (b1838PA), Samuel (b1840PA), Joseph (b1844-7PA), Alexander (b1846-8PA), Sarah E. (b1848-51PA), Morgan (b1852PA), Chaffin (b1854PA), Levi (b1858IL), & William (b1860IL). Uriah (II) may also have had a brother in PA, named Alexander Henderson. If anyone possesses awareness of this line of Hendersons, please contact Bob Mayse, POB 905, Fredericksburg, TX.

I am looking for info on L. A. McCullum s/o John and Prudence Shipley McCullum. He was born in Magnolia, Putnam County, May 20, 1852. HIs father John was a constable for 25 years and died in Wenona, Marshall Co, October 27, 1875. Would like info on any one of these three. Thank you.
The name is spelled McCullm in the two references I have. L.A. McCullum was a hair-dresser (Barber) living in Wenona Illinois. He was born in Putnam County in 1852 and moved to Wenona in 1874. In January 1874, he married Miss Emma Carson, born in Andrew County Missouri. They had two daughters, Clara Bell B. @ 1877 and Maria Lousia.B @ 1879. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. and apparently the only hairdresser in Wenona at that time. Book suggests he was fairly well to do. He, wife and 2 daughters appear in 1880 census Evans Township, city of Wenona.

Elizabeth Hager was born 22 May 1830 in Fayette Co., Penn. the dau. of Peter Hager and Rachel Inks. Elizabeth Hager married Morris M. Bosley about 1850, probably in Fayette Co. Morris Bosley was the son of Greenberry Bosley and Huldah Morris. He was born about 1825 and died 10 Jun 1901 in Putnam Co., Illinois. Elizabeth Hager Bosley apparently moved further west for she died 6 Aug 1908 in Great Bend, Barton Co., Kansas. They had these children: William born about 1852, Anna b. 1855, Martha W. b. 1858 who married John McCaleb, Nellie, Charles, Vivian, and Clementine b. 1879. Looking to exchange further details on this family and descendants. Thank you, Kathleen Rizer

I've been searching for the burial places of our MATHIS family. Is there a Boyle and an Antioch Cemetery in Putnam County? JESSE MATHI ggrandfather, was married to NANCY SEYBOLD. She died in 1859 and is suppose to be buried in the Boyle Cemetery. Later he married ELIZABETH BEAR and she is buried in the Antioch Cemetery, 1916. Jesse died in 1906 and we have no burial site for him but was presuming it would be in either of the two cemeteries. Thanks for any help that you can give.
